6. What is the life expectancy for someone with
paraplegia or tetraplegia (quadriplegia)?

It depends on their age at injury, how long ago they were injured,
and the severity of their injury. Tables from the April, 1999 Facts
and Figures at a Glance can be used to provide rough estimates
for life expectancies. If more specific information is needed, we do
provide computer projections on an individual basis. The National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical has a charge of $750.00 per case. Arrangements for individual cases should be made by calling the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center at 205-934-3320.
