EQUIPMENT DATA TOP
Landing Entrances (Doors): TOP
Each landing entrance is supplied as an integral door/frame assembly
and carries labels certifying that it has been laboratory tested and
listed for a minimum fire separation rating of 1-1/2 hours. Standard
hardware included and mounted in the door/frame assembly as follows:
2 speed adjustable hydraulic door closer.
3 sets of heavy duty hinges and plates.
Door vision panel approximately 4.53" x 15.35" (115mm x 390mm) of
clear wired glass.
A certified interlock maintains the door in a closed and locked
position when the lift is not at the landing.
Subject to site limitations the standard entrance is a 36" x 80"
(914mm x 2032mm) swing door available with 1-1/2 hour fire rating.
The door is supplied with a 35" x 6", 20 gauge (890mm x 150mm x 1mm)
stainless steel kick plate and a 5" x 11.81", 20 gauge (125mm x
300mm x 1mm) stainless steel push plate.
The frame is supplied with a 2" x 6", 20 gauge (50mm x 150mm x 1mm)
landing sill.
The operating controls consist of floor designated button and key
switch. The buttons are the "mushroom head" type and suitably marked
as to their function. The key switch is an on-off type and the key
is removable only in the OFF position. The buttons are mounted
either on a 1/8", 10 gauge (3mm) stainless steel plate or directly
to the door frame.
Power Unit and Controls: TOP
The controller is integrally mounted with the hydraulic power unit
and is wired and tested prior to leaving the factory. The salient
features of the power unit are as follows:
A hydraulic pump unit is supplied for quite smooth operation. The
pump is connected through a flexible coupling to a continuous rated
motor of a voltage as required by the job site. (208VAC-3 Phase or
220VAC-1 Phase). The pump and motor are individually sized to
provide the required oil flow and pressure to the cylinder.
A relief valve, capable of full bore release is supplied to relieve
any pressure which may build up in excess of 24% of the maximum
allowable. This valve is tested on site, tagged and sealed by an
inspector of the local enforcing authority.
A check valve with a cracking pressure of approximately 5 psi (0.35
bar) is supplied in the pressure line. This valve automatically
opens on start up of the pump and allows full flow of oil to the
cylinder. The valve prevents any oil leakage in the
cylinder-to-reservoir direction and is capable of fully supporting
the car and its rated load on a locked column of oil.
An adjustable flow control device is incorporated in the solenoid
down valve to regulate the car speed in the down direction. The
solenoid down valve opens to allow the return of oil to the
reservoir when the down button is operated.
A manual lowering valve is included to bypass the solenoid down
valve in the event of a main building power failure.
The oil reservoir is supplied with a tank breather with integral
filter and filler cap. An oil level gauge is mounted on the front of
the tank to visually show oil levels as well as oil temperature.
The suction line is supplied with a filter to prevent dire particles
from entering the pump.
Minimum recommended pump room size is 3' (914mm) x 3' (914mm).
Option: Pump unit steel enclosure cabinet.
Option: Battery up and down standby system maintains full operation
in the event of a power failure.
Emergency Power Unit: TOP
An emergency lowering power supply to allow the lift to operate in
the down direction should the normal building power supply fail.
Car Enclosure: TOP

Guide and Brackets: TOP
The car guides used are planed, elevator "T" rails, 12.4 kg/m in
weight and spliced with machined surface fishplates.
Guide rail brackets are bolted through the hoistway enclosure with
back-up plates, washers and nuts.
Approved elevator guide shoes (minimum of 4 nylon with steel
inserts) are used.
Cylinder - "Hole-less": TOP
The piston is supplied with a steel stop ring which prevents the
plunger from leaving the cylinder. Alternative cylinder designs and
arrangements can be used if warranted by travel and hoistway
clearance restrictions..

GENERAL INFORMATION TOP
The customer has the choice of three standard capacities: 550 lb.
(250 kg), 1000 lb. (454 kg) or 1400 lb. (635 kg).
The car speed is approximately 30 fpm (0.15 mps) in both directions
while carrying rated load, or to maximum permitted by the B 355
code.
Shop drawings are prepared by Federal Elevator, using good drafting
procedures, and are submitted to the architct and/or customer for
approval prior to installation.
License fees are the responsibility of the owner.
The lift contractor will provide three (3) months free service and
maintenance from date of approval by inspectors.
The entire lift and all component parts carry a one (1) year
guarantee. The guarantee is for the replacement at no cost of
defective parts but does not include the labour costs required to
replace the defective part(s).
